Allison Lockhart is a licensed and nationally board-certified music therapist, Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Music Therapist (NICU-MT). She serves as the Assistant Director of Perfect Harmony Health. 

Allison received her bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from the University of Alabama where she gained experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and completed an undergraduate thesis exploring the use of music therapy to address mental health needs in juvenile delinquents. Additionally, at Alabama, she assisted in conducting music therapy research with premature infants and received certification as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Music Therapist (NICU-MT). She also founded the state’s first Autism Speaks U chapter. She completed a six-month music therapy internship at Easter Seals Midwest Autism Services. Allison completed her master’s degree in Music Therapy at the University of Miami where she received extensive training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT)® and completed a master’s thesis studying the use of music and sensory integration techniques to increase attention in children with autism. She also completed her graduate practicum and a portion of her teaching assistantship at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital where she helped develop new documentation protocols and a Prescribed Music Listening Program for premature infants in the NICU. 

Allison has experience working with numerous populations including pediatric patients, psychiatric patients, older adults, juvenile delinquents, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She specializes in working with individuals on the autism spectrum and premature infants. From 2015 through 2021, she served on the board of directors for the non-profit We Rock For Autism. She also served as Treasurer for the Music Therapy Association of Georgia from 2020 through 2022. Allison has been very involved with international music therapy efforts and has traveled to Japan, Kenya, and Uganda to advocate for and provide music therapy services. She was part of the Ubuntu Music Therapy Initiative in Kenya and helped facilitate Kenya's first Music Therapy Certificate Training provided by the government's Permanent Presidential Music Commission. She has presented at numerous regional, national, and international conferences on neurologic music therapy and autism. She is passionate about education and is the Internship Director at Perfect Harmony Health. She also has a strong background in musical theater and is fluent in Spanish.

In her free time, Allison loves traveling, especially to Disney World. She also loves hiking, camping, cooking, and dancing. Being born in Alabama, Allison is a huge Alabama football fan and spends her Saturdays in the fall watching college football.
