We provide individual and group music therapy services in the Metro Atlanta area. Our programs include adaptive music lessons, early intervention, Kindermusik, mental health support services,  and therapeutic support of individualized goals.

News and Happenings at The George Center
The George Center and Jacob's Ladder were proud to welcome State Senator John Albers (Roswell) to observe music therapy sessions on Thursday, May 5th!  Senator Albers observed individual and group music therapy sessions, and presented Jacob's Ladder and The George Center staff and students with a copy of a Senate resolution recognizing the work of music therapists across Georgia.  Thank you Senator Albers!

Recent Activities:

March 29-31, 2012 - Southeastern Regional - American Music Therapy Association Conference in Charlotte, NC.

January 19, 2012; 9:30-10:30 am - Jamie George will be presenting on Music Therapy and its applications to the Dunwoody Woman's Club.

January 16, 2012 - Please help us welcome Keith West, our first Music Therapy intern.  Keith will be with us for six months.  In addition to donating music therapy sessions to a few local non-profits, Keith will be accompanying GCMT therapists to many sessions.

January 11, 2012 - Jamie George, along with several Music Therapy Association of Georgia (MTAG) task force members will be meeting with our state legislators regarding music therapy licensure in the state.

January 9, 2012 - GCMT is excited to announce that Andrea Johnson, MT-BC has joined our team.  Andrea still has some availability in her schedule; please call to schedule an appointment.

January 7, 2012 - GCMT was an exhibitor at Kate's Club resource fair in Atlanta, GA.

December 10, 2011 - GMCT provided Music Therpay services for  the FOCUS/Lekotek Holiday Party.

December 3, 2011 - GMCT provided Music Therapy services for Special Time with Santa; an Autism Society of America, Greater Georgia Chapter Event.  The event took place at Summit Learning Center in Roswell, GA.

The George Center for Music Therapy, Inc. is proud to announce partnerships with  Cobblestone Therapy Group in Roswell and Key Music Center in Norcross.  These partnerships began October 1, 2011.  Clinic times are filling up quickly - please contact us for more information.

October 23, 2011 - GCMT's Annual Recital at Ragamuffin Music Hall in Roswell, GA. We were so proud of our AMAZING clients!!! Thank you to all of our participating families. Looking forward to next year.

October 15, 2011 - GCMT and Cobblestone Therapy are proud to be leading a panel discussion on the role of speech, occupational, and music therapy when working with children with autism.  The meeting will be hosted by TACA and will be held at the John's Creek United Methodist in John's Creek from 2:00-4:00 pm.  Detailed information can be found here.

October 1, 2011 - Jamie George presented "Reimbursement & Funding for Music Therapy Services" CMTE hosted by the Music Therapy Association of Georgia.  The meeting was held at Jacob's Ladder School and Therapy Center in Roswell.  For more information, please visit www.georgiamusictherapy.org.
