Rachel Green is a licensed and nationally board certified music therapist. She has been with the George Center since 2018. Rachel received her degree in Music Therapy from Georgia College and State University and completed her internship at Palmetto Health Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. During her internship, Rachel was immersed in providing services to individuals with medical and psychiatric needs; including patients on the ICU, NICU, PICU, PACU, Oncology, and Behavioral Health units.
Rachel specializes in work with children, adolescents, and adults with developmental delays, autism, sensory processing disorders, substance abuse, depression, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, ADD, ADHD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder and PTSD. During her clinical work at an inpatient psychiatric facility, Rachel developed a music therapy program for the outpatient services, which includes individuals on active duty with the military. In addition to her experience, Rachel is excited to carry out her passions in serving individuals of various needs, more specifically developmental delays and autism.
Outside of her clinical work, Rachel has been an active member of the American Music Therapy Association, Music Therapy Association of South Carolina, and Music Therapy Association of Georgia. In addition to her professional affiliations, Rachel has served in her church orchestra on the french horn. Rachel received formal training on french horn and continues to enjoy performing professionally as well as providing lessons on horn and trumpet.
