Melissa Pate is a licensed and board-certified music therapist who joined the George Center in 2015. She graduate from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy with piano as her principal instrument.
Melissa completed her internship with Trident Medical Center in Charleston, SC in Fall 2014. During her internship she served in several of the hospital, including the NICU, pediatrics, oncology, and general medical/surgical. Melissa specializes in early intervention and working with children with autism.
Melissa serves as the Director of Senior Services at GCMT, is a member of the American Music Therapy Association and the Music Therapy Association of Georgia. She has received certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Music Therapy in 2016 as well as Neurologic Music Therapy in 2017. She is proficient in guitar, piano, as well as voice.
In her spare time, Melissa enjoys going to the river with her husband and drinking coffee.
