Plus, you’ll work alongside music therapists who are leading the field in areas such as insurance-reimbursement, business practices, government relations, ethics, and advocacy.
We are currently accepting intern applications for the February 2020 - July 2020 internship period. Applications for this period must be received by August 2nd, 2019 in order to be considered for the position.

Liability coverage: Provided by The George Center, Inc.
Transportation: A car is required.
Equipment: The George Center, Inc. owns a large variety of rhythm instruments (cabasas, maracas, tambourines, lumi sticks, claves, jingle bells, jingle sticks, chiquitas, guiros, egg shakers, boomwhackers, triangles, cymbals, tone blocks, wood blocks, chimes, hand bells, cow bell, agogo bells, etc. ), drums (buffalo drums, ocean drums, hand drums, sound shapes, children’s gathering drums, lollipop drums, cajons, doumbeks, and djembes), xylophones, metallophone, tone bars, glockenspiels, alto easycussions, recorders, 8 acoustic guitars, 2 electric guitars, 2 electric basses, 3 amplifiers, portable bluetooth speakers, several iPod docks, iPad’s, 4 upright pianos, and 5 keyboards. The George Center, Inc. also owns a variety of additional props such as children’s books, scarves, streamers, toy props, puppets, etc. The George Center, Inc. has 3 centrally located offices (Roswell, Cumming, and Peachtree Corners) where 1:1 and group clients can be seen and our staff meetings are held. All equipment is housed in the offices and interns will have access to music therapy books, journals and all instruments. In addition, wi-fi internet access, cloud based server access, printer/scanner/fax, lamination, and desk space will be available to the intern at our Roswell location, as well as access to several assessment tools, music curriculums, and the Boardmaker program.
Professional Affiliations: Member fees for The American Music Therapy Association and The Music Therapy Association of Georgia will be provided by The George Center, Inc.
Continuing Education: The MTI is highly encouraged to attend any regional or national music therapy conferences that take place during his/her internship. If the MTI chooses to attend a conference during his/her internship, The George Center, Inc. will provide registration fees and a travel stipend. In addition, the MTI is also encouraged to participate in Music Therapy Association of Georgia (MTAG) meetings, activities, CMTE’s, and/or in-services. The CTD will communicate when and where these activities will occur. If the MTI chooses to attend any MTAG events during his/her internship, The George Center, Inc. will provide registration fees for the event.
